High above the little town of Lenzburg, on its round hilltop, stands one of the oldest and most important castles in Switzerland. Its earliest parts date back to the 11th century, when the Counts of Lenzburg made it their seat. Today you’ll find a magnificent medieval setting: the Knights’ Hall, an atmospheric courtyard, well-kept gardens and sweeping views over the town and the Aargau countryside. Three museums bring the castle to life – a residential museum, an exhibition on knighthood and nobility, and a children’s museum built around Fauchi, the castle’s legendary baby dragon.
