Ski transfer Zurich Airport → Andermatt for skiers
You land at Zurich Airport (ZRH) and want to travel with your skis, snowboard and the whole group straight to Andermatt in the Urserntal – without changing trains in Göschenen, without hauling luggage on the platform and without a connecting train through the Schöllenen. SWIVON collects you and your equipment at the terminal and takes you directly to your accommodation in Andermatt or to the valley station – as close as the local access road and your vehicle allow. For ski equipment we use spacious vehicles: Mercedes V-Class with trailer, Sprinter, Sprinter with trailer and coach.
Unlike the general Zurich–Andermatt transfer, this journey is geared entirely towards winter sports: a trailer or luggage compartment for the complete equipment, winter tyres and snow chains when required – and no surcharge per ski or board bag.
Our vehicles for the ski transfer to Andermatt
Skis and snowboards do not belong in the boot of an E- or S-Class. For winter sports we therefore drive vehicles with genuine storage space – the equipment travels in the trailer or in the luggage compartment.
Mercedes V-Class with trailer – up to 7 people
For families and small groups of up to seven people. The V-Class comes with all-wheel drive (4MATIC) and winter tyres; skis, boards and luggage travel in the trailer – and the trailer is included in the price. That keeps the interior clear, so you sit in comfort the whole way.
Mercedes Sprinter – up to 20 people
The Mercedes Sprinter seats up to 20 passengers and is winter-ready with winter tyres – the first choice for families and ski groups travelling into the Urserntal together. With smaller groups the equipment travels in the luggage compartment; at full capacity we hitch up a trailer.
Sprinter with trailer – when the bus is fully occupied
If you travel at full capacity, we hitch up a trailer (surcharge CHF 150): that way all of your ski equipment stays securely and dryly stowed, while every seat inside remains free for your group.
Coach with trailer – for large groups, ski schools & clubs
For large groups we organise coaches (up to 30 / up to 50 people): the luggage travels in the underfloor compartment, and with plenty of equipment additionally in a trailer (surcharge CHF 150). If you would rather hire a coach with chauffeur yourself, we provide the right vehicle. For medium-sized groups, a Sprinter or minibus for up to 20 people is also suitable.
The equipment travels with you: For ski transfers we drive the V-Class with trailer, Sprinters, Sprinters with trailer and coaches. We do not use the E- or S-Class – there is simply no room there for skis and boards.
Ski luggage & equipment
Skis, snowboards, ski boots, helmets and suitcases travel with us – with no surcharge per pair and no discussion at the terminal. When you make your enquiry, simply tell us how many people are travelling with how many ski and board bags; we then choose the vehicle. If you prefer to hire your equipment locally in Andermatt, you will arrive with light luggage – we plan for that as well.
Groups, ski schools & clubs
Ski weeks, club outings and corporate ski days bring many people and even more equipment to the airport at the same time. We drive the group together, with several vehicles in convoy if required, so that everyone arrives in the valley at the same time. On request we plan the return journey at the same time.
Winter roads, snow chains & safety
The route from Zurich to Andermatt is passable all year round: we take the motorway to the Göschenen exit and from there the Schöllenenstrasse up into the Urserntal – a road with no winter closure, protected by several avalanche galleries. The pass roads over the Oberalp, the Furka, the Susten and the Gotthard are not on our route. If the avalanche risk is high, the canton of Uri can close the Schöllenenstrasse at short notice – we check the situation before every journey and set the departure time accordingly. In winter our vehicles are fitted with winter tyres, and with snow chains when required. The agreed price stays fixed – even with snow, traffic jams or diversions there is no winter surcharge.

- Be collected: your chauffeur waits at the terminal, helps with the loading and drives you directly to Andermatt.
Route & travel time from Zurich Airport
The distance is around 123 km, and the pure driving time is about 2 hours. This applies to the Sprinter and the coach. The route runs via the A4 past Zug and Schwyz, on along the Axenstrasse beside the Urnersee and from Altdorf on the A2 heading south to the Göschenen exit – the last exit before the Gotthard road tunnel, which we therefore do not use at all. From there the Schöllenenstrasse leads through the gorge, past the Teufelsbrücke and through the Urnerloch up to Andermatt. If the Axenstrasse is closed because of rockfall, we drive via Lucerne and the A2; the travel time increases accordingly and we agree the departure time with you in advance. During the peak season and at weekends we build in time buffers so that you are at the slopes on time.
Meet & Greet, flight tracking & waiting time – around the clock
We track your flight: if it is delayed, the chauffeur waits without you having to call. On request we welcome you with a name sign in the arrivals hall and help with the ski and board bags all the way to the vehicle. We serve early landings and late-night arrivals just the same.
The Andermatt ski area
Andermatt is part of the SkiArena Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis, the largest connected ski area in Central Switzerland with over 180 kilometres of pistes. The Andermatt section, with the Gemsstock, Nätschen and the link over the Oberalp Pass to Sedrun, lies between 1’444 and 2’961 metres. The top station on the Gemsstock at 2’961 metres is the highest point of the ski area; the Gemsstockbahn climbs from Andermatt in two sections via the Gurschenalp, and the vertical drop from the summit down to the village is around 1’500 metres. We take you directly to the valley station of the Gemsstockbahn on the south-western edge of the village, or to the Gütsch-Express by Andermatt station, which carries you via the intermediate station at Nätschen up to the Gütsch. In the historic village centre we drive right up to your accommodation, as far as the access road allows; at the car-free Andermatt Reuss quarter we drive as close as the access permits and agree the exact stopping point with you in advance. With a Sprinter and trailer or a coach we stop at the nearest accessible point.
Return journey: Andermatt → Zurich Airport
We handle the return journey too: we collect you outside your accommodation in Andermatt and bring you with all of your equipment to Zurich Airport. We set the pickup time together, based on your departure time, and allow generous time for the stretch through the Schöllenen and along the Axenstrasse; for early departures we set off correspondingly early, so that check-in does not become tight.
