Ski transfer Zurich Airport → Verbier for skiers

You land at Zurich Airport (ZRH) and want to travel with your skis, snowboard and the whole group straight into the Val de Bagnes – without changing trains with a ski bag and a suitcase and without hauling luggage on the platform. SWIVON collects you and your equipment at the terminal and takes you up to Verbier – as close to your accommodation as the local access road and your vehicle allow. For ski equipment we use spacious vehicles: Mercedes V-Class with trailer, Sprinter, Sprinter with trailer and coach.

Unlike an ordinary airport transfer, this journey is geared entirely towards winter sports: a trailer or luggage compartment for the complete equipment instead of the boot of a limousine.

Our vehicles for the ski transfer to Verbier

Skis and snowboards do not belong in the boot of an E- or S-Class. For winter sports we therefore drive vehicles with genuine storage space – the equipment travels in the trailer or in the luggage compartment.

Mercedes V-Class with trailer – up to 7 people

For families and small groups of up to seven people. The V-Class comes with all-wheel drive (4MATIC) and winter tyres; skis, boards and luggage travel in the trailer – and the trailer is included in the price. That keeps the interior clear, so you sit in comfort the whole way.

Mercedes Sprinter – up to 20 people

The Mercedes Sprinter seats up to 20 people – suitable for families and ski groups travelling into the Valais together. With smaller groups the equipment travels in the luggage compartment; at full capacity we hitch up a trailer for a surcharge.

Sprinter with trailer – when the bus is fully occupied

If you travel at full capacity, we hitch up a trailer for a surcharge: that way all of your ski equipment stays securely stowed and dry, while every seat inside remains free for your group.

Coach with trailer – for large groups, ski schools & clubs

For large groups we organise coaches (up to 30 / up to 50 people): the luggage travels in the underfloor compartment, and with plenty of equipment additionally in a trailer (for a surcharge). If you would rather hire a coach with chauffeur instead, we will advise you on the right vehicle on request. For medium-sized groups, a Sprinter or minibus for up to 20 people is also suitable.

The equipment travels with you: For ski transfers we drive the V-Class with trailer, Sprinter, Sprinter with trailer and coaches. We do not use the E- or S-Class – there is simply no room there for skis and boards.

Ski luggage & equipment

Skis, snowboards, ski boots, helmets and suitcases travel with us – with no surcharge per ski or board bag. When you make your enquiry, simply tell us how many people are travelling with how many ski and board bags; we then choose the vehicle.

Groups, ski schools & clubs

Ski clubs, ski schools, company outings and large chalet parties are in good hands with us. From the Sprinter for the family to the coach for up to 50 people, your group stays together, and the luggage travels in the same vehicle or in the trailer we bring along. Tell us the number of people, equipment, date and pick-up points – and we will plan the ski transfer.

Winter roads, snow chains & safety

There is no pass road to drive from Zurich to Verbier: the motorway runs as far as Martigny, and from there the cantonal road continues through the Val de Bagnes. The cantonal road from Martigny does carry the name Route du Grand-Saint-Bernard, but for us it does not lead over the pass: we leave it at Sembrancher and turn off into the Val de Bagnes. The Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard, closed from October to June according to the TCS, does not lie on our route. On the section between Le Châble and Verbier, snow chains may be needed in heavy snowfall according to Verbier Tourisme – in winter our vehicles are fitted with winter tyres and carry chains when required. The agreed fixed price applies to the confirmed route and the confirmed vehicle – we do not charge a winter surcharge for snow or traffic jams.

How your ski transfer works

  1. Send your enquiry: date, flight number, number of people and number of ski or board bags.
  2. Receive a fixed price: you receive the price for the right vehicle.
  3. Be collected: your chauffeur meets you with a name sign in the arrivals hall, helps with the loading and drives you directly to Verbier.

Route & travel time: Zurich Airport – Verbier

The distance is around 281 km, and the pure driving time in the Sprinter or coach is about 4 hours. Added to that is a driver break of 15 minutes – in the Sprinter or coach, allow around 4 hours 15 minutes for the whole journey. The route runs via the A1 towards Bern, on along the A12 via Fribourg towards Vevey and on the A9 along Lake Geneva as far as Martigny; from there the A21 runs towards Sembrancher, and the cantonal road leads through the Val de Bagnes via Le Châble up to Verbier. During the high season and at weekends we build in an additional time buffer.

Meet & Greet, flight tracking & waiting time – around the clock

We track your flight in real time and adjust the pick-up time automatically. On the journey to the ski area the personal welcome is included: the chauffeur awaits you with a name sign in the arrivals hall, helps with your luggage and equipment and accompanies you to the vehicle. A generous waiting time is included, and our service is available 24/7.

The ski area around Verbier

Verbier lies on a terrace above the Val de Bagnes, at around 1,500 metres. The Verbier sector – according to Téléverbier the area made up of Verbier, La Tzoumaz-Savoleyres and Bruson – comprises 106 kilometres of pistes and 33 lifts. It belongs to the 4 Vallées network, for which Téléverbier gives 410 kilometres of pistes and freeride routes – that figure is spread across Verbier, Bruson, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon, not Verbier alone. The highest point of the 4 Vallées is, according to Téléverbier, Mont-Fort at 3,330 metres, reachable from the Verbier side via La Chaux.

Verbier is not car-free: according to Verbier Tourisme the village can be reached by car all year round, and we drive you as close to your accommodation as the local access road and your vehicle allow. At the Médran valley station the municipality of Val de Bagnes designates a Dépose minute for setting down passengers. According to Verbier Tourisme there is no car park in Verbier with direct access to the slopes. With the Sprinter, the coach or the V-Class with trailer we agree the exact stopping point with you in advance.

The season lasts roughly from the beginning of December to the end of April; Téléverbier sets the exact operating dates depending on snow conditions.

Return journey: Verbier → Zurich Airport

We handle the return journey too: we collect you at your accommodation in Verbier – or at the nearest stopping point, if the access road or the size of the vehicle does not allow anything else – and bring you with all of your equipment to Zurich Airport. We set the pick-up time together, based on your departure time; for winter roads and the mountain road we allow additional reserve.
