Ski transfer Zurich Airport → Saas-Fee (Parkhaus Saas-Fee) for skiers

You land at Zurich Airport (ZRH) and want to head straight to the Saas-Fee glacier ski area in the Saas Valley with your skis, snowboard and the whole group – without changing trains in Visp, without lugging your luggage along the platform and without taking the post bus up the mountain. SWIVON picks you up with all your equipment at the terminal and brings you door to door right to the Parkhaus Saas-Fee, the car-free entrance to the village. For ski equipment we use spacious vehicles: Mercedes V-Class with trailer, Sprinter, Sprinter with trailer and coach.

Unlike a general city transfer, this journey is entirely geared towards winter sports: plenty of room for equipment, winter-ready vehicles and chauffeurs who know the Saas Valley and its weather conditions.

Our vehicles for the ski transfer to Saas-Fee

Skis and snowboards do not belong in the boot of an E- or S-Class. For winter sports we therefore drive vehicles with genuine storage space – the equipment travels in the trailer or the luggage compartment.

Mercedes V-Class with trailer – up to 7 people

For families and small groups of up to seven people. The V-Class comes with all-wheel drive (4MATIC) and winter tyres; skis, boards and luggage travel in the trailer – and the trailer is included in the price. That keeps the interior clear, so you sit in comfort the whole way.

Mercedes Sprinter – up to 20 people

The Mercedes Sprinter seats up to 20 passengers and is winter-ready with winter tyres – the first choice for families and smaller ski groups heading to the Saas Valley in Valais. With smaller groups the equipment travels in the luggage compartment; at full capacity we hitch up a trailer.

Sprinter with trailer – when the bus is fully booked

If you are travelling at full capacity, we hitch up a trailer: this keeps all your ski equipment safely and dryly stowed, while inside every seat stays free for your group.

Coach with trailer – for large groups, ski schools & clubs

For large groups we arrange coaches (up to 30 / up to 50 people): the luggage travels in the underfloor compartment, and with plenty of equipment additionally in the trailer. If you would rather Hire a coach with a chauffeur Yourself, we provide the right vehicle. For medium-sized groups a Sprinter or minibus for up to 20 people Is also suitable.

The equipment travels with you: For ski transfers we drive the V-Class with trailer, Sprinters, Sprinters with trailer and coaches. We do not use the E- or S-Class – there is simply no room for skis and boards.

Ski luggage & equipment

We carry skis, snowboards, boots, helmets and poles free of charge. When you make your enquiry, simply tell us how many pairs of skis or boards you are bringing and whether you have any bulky equipment with you – then we choose a Sprinter, Sprinter with trailer or coach so that everything is safely stowed. Of course we help with loading at the terminal.

Groups, ski schools & clubs

Ski clubs, ski schools, company outings and large chalet parties are in the right place with us. From the Sprinter for the family to the coach for up to 50 people, your group stays together, the luggage travels in the same convoy, and you arrive at the Parkhaus Saas-Fee as one. Just let us know the number of people, the equipment, the date and the pick-up points – and we will plan the ski transfer.

Winter roads, snow chains & safety

The long journey through Valais and the final stretch up the Saas Valley to Saas-Fee can be demanding in winter. Our vehicles are winter-ready (winter tyres), with snow chains where needed, and our chauffeurs know the route and the weather conditions. Important: the high passes (Furka, Grimsel, Susten) are closed in winter – we therefore travel via Bern and the Rhône Valley. The agreed price stays fixed – even with snow, traffic jams or diversions there is no winter surcharge.

How your ski transfer works

  1. Send your enquiry: state the ski area, number of people, amount of equipment, date and addresses.
  2. You receive a quote with the right vehicle (Sprinter / Sprinter with trailer / coach) and your chauffeur’s details.
  3. The chauffeur meets you at the airport, helps load the equipment and brings you to the Parkhaus Saas-Fee.

Route & travel time from Zurich Airport

The distance to Saas-Fee is around 350 km, and the pure travel time is about 5 hours 15 minutes. This applies to the Sprinter and the coach. Two driver breaks of 15 and 30 minutes are added, so allow around 6 hours for the whole journey. As the high passes (Furka, Grimsel, Susten) are closed in winter, the route runs along the A1 towards Bern, on via Fribourg and along Lake Geneva past Vevey and Montreux, then up the Rhône Valley through Valais (A9) via Martigny, Sion and Sierre to Visp, and from there up the Saas Valley to the Parkhaus Saas-Fee. During peak season and at weekends we build in a time buffer so that you reach the slopes on schedule.

Meet & Greet, flight tracking & waiting time – around the clock

We track your flight in real time and adjust the pick-up time automatically. On this long route to the ski area, a personal welcome is included: the chauffeur awaits you with a name sign in the arrivals hall, helps with your luggage and equipment and accompanies you to the vehicle. A generous waiting time is included, and our service is available 24/7.

The Saas-Fee ski area

Saas-Fee, the “Pearl of the Alps” at 1,800 metres, is one of the most snow-sure glacier ski areas in Switzerland: around 150 kilometres of pistes open up the Saas-Fee/Saastal holiday region, climbing high up onto the Feegletscher below the Allalinhorn. At 3,500 metres, the revolving restaurant Allalin reigns as the highest revolving restaurant in the world, reachable by the Metro Alpin, the highest underground railway in the world. The winter season usually runs from late October to mid-April. As Saas-Fee is car-free, we bring you to the Parkhaus Saas-Fee at the village entrance and unload your equipment at Terminal A or Terminal B; from there you continue into the village on the free electric local bus, by electric local taxi or – if your hotel offers the service and it has been arranged in advance – by hotel shuttle.

Return journey: Saas-Fee → Zurich Airport

We are your partner for the return trip too. We pick you up with all your equipment at the Parkhaus Saas-Fee as soon as you have arrived from the car-free village at the village entrance, and bring you to Zurich Airport (ZRH) in good time. The return journey uses the same spacious type of vehicle – Sprinter, Sprinter with trailer or coach – and the same winter route through the Rhône Valley with a time buffer, so that you reach your flight in a relaxed manner.

Frequently asked questions

Can we bring skis and snowboards to Saas-Fee?

Yes, of course. We carry skis, snowboards, boots, helmets and poles free of charge. For the equipment we use a Mercedes V-Class with trailer, Sprinter, Sprinter with trailer or coach – never a limousine such as the E-Class or S-Class. Tell us when you enquire how many pairs of skis or boards you have with you, and we will choose the right vehicle.

How many people fit in a Sprinter?

The Mercedes Sprinter holds up to 20 people. With the vehicle fully occupied, the complete ski equipment no longer fits in the luggage compartment as well – for that we hitch up a trailer (surcharge CHF 150), so that every seat inside stays free.

Are the vehicles winter-ready (winter tyres, snow chains)?

Yes. Our vehicles run on winter tyres and carry snow chains, which we fit when the road signs require it. Since the high passes (Furka, Grimsel, Susten) are closed in winter, we approach via Bern and the Rhône Valley through Valais. The Saastal road from Visp is passable year round; in the event of avalanche or rockfall danger it can be closed at short notice – we monitor the road conditions before every journey and adjust the departure time accordingly.

Is the ski transport included in the price?

Yes, the transport of skis and snowboards is included in the price – at no extra charge. The agreed fixed price stays unchanged even with snow, traffic jams or diversions; there is no winter surcharge. You receive the binding price for your group on request.

Do you drive all the way into the village of Saas-Fee?

Saas-Fee is car-free, yet we take you right up to the village: the road from Visp ends at the Parkhaus Saas-Fee at the village entrance, and that is exactly where we set you down. We unload your skis and your luggage at Terminal A or Terminal B; the first 30 minutes there are free. From there you continue into the village on the free electric local bus, by electric local taxi or – if your hotel offers the service and it has been arranged in advance – by hotel shuttle. We ourselves do not drive into the car-free village.

Do you also pick up large groups and ski schools?

Yes. Ski clubs, ski schools, clubs and company groups are in good hands with us. From the Sprinter to the coach for up to 50 people, your group stays together, the equipment travels along, and you arrive as one at the Parkhaus Saas-Fee – the cantonal road into the Saastal has no height limit for coaches. Tell us the number of people, equipment, date and pick-up points for a tailored quote.
