On a clear day the panorama stretches across the entire Alpine chain from Säntis to Mont-Blanc, down over the Swiss plateau and the three lakes of Biel, Neuchâtel and Murten, and on the other side across the Jura toward the Vosges and the Black Forest. Far below, the turquoise shores of Lake Biel are lined with vineyards and wine villages – a soft, sunlit counterpoint to the cool ridge above.
