Saas-Fee is the «Pearl of the Alps»: a car-free glacier village at 1,800 metres, encircled by a crown of 4,000-metre peaks including the Allalinhorn. Historic Valais wooden chalets, narrow lanes, family-run hotels and the view of the Fee Glacier make it one of Switzerland’s most striking mountain destinations. On site you can ride the Metro Alpin — the world’s highest underground funicular — up to Mittelallalin at 3,500 metres, home to the world’s highest revolving restaurant and a vast ice pavilion carved inside the glacier itself.
