Ski transfer Zurich Airport → Ischgl for skiers
You land at Zurich Airport (ZRH) and want to travel with your skis, snowboard and the whole group straight to Ischgl in the Paznaun – without changing trains in Landeck, without hauling luggage at the station and without a connecting bus up the valley. SWIVON collects you and your equipment at the terminal and takes you over the Arlberg into Tirol, door to door right to your hotel or chalet, or directly to the valley station. For ski equipment we use spacious vehicles: Mercedes V-Class with trailer, Sprinter, Sprinter with trailer and coach.
Unlike a general city transfer, this journey is geared entirely towards winter sports – with room for the complete equipment and a chauffeur who knows the approach through the Arlberg tunnel and along the Paznaun valley road.
Our vehicles for the ski transfer to Ischgl
Skis and snowboards do not belong in the boot of an E- or S-Class. For winter sports we therefore drive vehicles with genuine storage space – the equipment travels in the trailer or in the luggage compartment.
Mercedes V-Class with trailer – up to 7 people
For families and small groups of up to seven people. The V-Class comes with all-wheel drive (4MATIC) and winter tyres; skis, boards and luggage travel in the trailer – and the trailer is included in the price. That keeps the interior clear, so you sit in comfort the whole way.
Mercedes Sprinter – up to 20 people with equipment
The Mercedes Sprinter offers plenty of room for passengers, skis, boards and luggage in a single vehicle. Winter-ready with winter tyres – the first choice for families and ski groups travelling into the Paznaun together.
Sprinter with trailer – when the bus is fully occupied
If you travel at full capacity, we hitch up a trailer: that way all of your ski equipment stays securely and dryly stowed, while every seat inside remains free for your group.
Coach with trailer – for large groups, ski schools & clubs
For large groups we organise coaches (up to 30 / up to 50 people): the luggage travels in the underfloor compartment, and with plenty of equipment additionally in a trailer. If you would rather hire a coach with chauffeur yourself, we provide the right vehicle. For medium-sized groups, a Sprinter or minibus for up to 20 people is also suitable.
The equipment travels with you: For ski transfers we drive the V-Class with trailer, Sprinters, Sprinters with trailer and coaches. We do not use the E- or S-Class – there is simply no room there for skis and boards.
Ski luggage & equipment
Skis, snowboards, ski boots, helmets and suitcases travel with us – with no surcharge per pair and no discussion at the terminal. When you make your enquiry, simply tell us how many people are travelling with how many ski and board bags; we then choose the vehicle. If you prefer to hire your equipment locally in the Paznaun, you will arrive with light luggage – we plan for that as well.
Groups, ski schools & clubs
Ski weeks, club outings and corporate ski days bring many people and even more equipment to the airport at the same time. We drive the group together, with several vehicles in convoy if required, so that everyone arrives in the valley at the same time. On request we plan the return journey at the same time.
Winter roads, snow chains & safety
The Paznaun valley road from Pians near Landeck up to Ischgl can be demanding in winter, and the Arlberg tunnel is subject to a toll. Our vehicles are winter-ready (winter tyres), with snow chains when required, and our chauffeurs know the route, the border crossing into Austria and the weather conditions. The agreed price stays fixed – even with snow, traffic jams or diversions there is no winter surcharge.
How your ski transfer works
- Send your enquiry: date, flight number, number of people and number of ski or board bags.
- Receive a fixed price: you receive the price for the right vehicle – with no surcharge per ski or board bag.
- Be collected: your chauffeur waits at the terminal, helps with the loading and drives you directly to Ischgl.
Route & travel time from Zurich Airport
The distance is around 235 km, and the pure driving time is about 3 hours 35 minutes. This applies to the Sprinter and the coach. A 15-minute driver break is added, so allow around 3 hours 50 minutes for the whole journey. The route runs via the A1 towards St. Gallen, on through the Rhine Valley onto the A14 into Vorarlberg, then via the S16 Arlberg expressway and the Arlberg tunnel into Tirol, and from the Pians exit near Landeck along the B188 through the Paznaun valley to Ischgl. During the peak season and at weekends we build in time buffers so that you are at the slopes on time.
Meet & Greet, flight tracking & waiting time – around the clock
We track your flight: if it is delayed, the chauffeur waits without you having to call. On request we welcome you with a name sign in the arrivals hall and help with the ski and board bags all the way to the vehicle. We serve early landings and late-night arrivals just the same.
The Ischgl ski area
Ischgl in the Paznaun valley in Tirol is part of the Silvretta Arena: 239 kilometres of pistes and 46 lifts and cable cars with a capacity of around 97,000 people per hour open up the area between 1,377 and 2,872 metres in altitude. What makes it special for Swiss guests: the Silvretta Arena links Ischgl in Tirol with duty-free Samnaun in the canton of Graubünden – so you travel from Zurich to Austria and then stand on your skis back in Switzerland. The winter season runs from 26 November 2026 to 2 May 2027. We take you directly to the right valley station or to your accommodation in the village.
Return journey: Ischgl → Zurich Airport
We plan the return journey straight away: we collect you outside your accommodation in Ischgl and bring you with all of your equipment to Zurich Airport in good time for check-in. For early departures we set off correspondingly early – we allow generous time for the Paznaun valley and the Arlberg, so that your flight does not become tight.
